Classical concert: Ensemble 44

Since prehistoric times, music and dance have been intimately linked in every region of the world. Across cultures and according to a variety of codes, gestures and sounds combine as reciprocal sources of inspiration. The programme we are offering is aimed at all audiences, including the very young. It’s designed as a journey through dance music and styles from different eras. The programme features a rare instrument: the bass clarinet. In duet with the cello, it creates an unexpected formation that underlines, with rhythm, energy and lyricism, the dance movements of classical music, traditional tango and klezmer music, or the more contemporary movements inspired by popular dances such as disco.
Ensemble 44 is made up of : Olivia Leblanc bass clarinet, clarinet, Rafael Cumont-Vioque cello.
