Fireside conference
Description
The Château de Beaurecueil – Forge de la Poésie will host a lecture by Marie Vermunt “From romantic cenacles to surrealist effervescence; the history of women’s literary salons in the 19th and 20th centuries”. Banned during the French Revolution, women’s literary salons rose from the ashes with the Romantic Revolution. Crucibles bubbling with ideals and passion, where worldliness and diplomacy forged the great literary, artistic and political movements of the 19th and 20th centuries.
After the surrealist revolution, they died out, slowly suffocated by the media revolution. These places of conversation will then occupy a few television studios, in a universe limited to moderators. Booking recommended. Admission free with hat; drinks and nibbles provided. Parking available outside.
