“Brantôme, a village hemmed in by the Dronne, is the enchanting starting point for this bike ride. You’ll be following in the footsteps of Pierre de Bourdeilles, lay abbot and Seigneur of Brantôme, a 16th-century man of letters who died and was buried at the Château de Richemont on the route.
An indefatigable chronicler, Pierre de Bourdeilles provides instructions on how to read his memoirs.

1.9 km At the stop sign, go straight across, signposted “La Gonterie Boulouneix” CAUTION DANGEROUS CROSSING

Follow “Gonterie Boulouneix”, leaving “Saint Julien de Bourdeilles” on the left.
5 km At the crossroads, go straight ahead and leave “Belaygue” on the right.
5.9 km Leave the C8 and turn right
6.9 km Before “La Gonterie Boulouneix”, at the give-way sign, take the C1 on the right, signposted “Le Montant”.
