Description

From the village of La Rochebeaucourt on the border of the Dordogne and Charente departments, a path leads to the village of Argentina, home to a beautiful legend. Situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Nizonne valley, the little village of Argentina boasts a small church, half Romanesque and half Gothic, which was once located on a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. It also boasts a troglodyte complex, known locally as “cluzeaux”, which has been converted at various times. For hikers, there is a 4.5 km path that allows you to discover the limestone plateau and its wealth of flora and fauna and heritage.

From the bus stop in the direction of Périgueux Angoulême on the main road, cross over and take the “rue du Château” opposite. Pass in front of the church and continue on the small “rue des Orchidées” opposite.
