Church of Saint-Sulpice
saint-sulpice-de-mareuil
The church of Notre-Dame was built at the beginning of the 16th century on the orders of Cardinal Amanieu d’Albret, abbot of the abbey of Saint-Pierre de Brantôme, so that the people of Brantôme could have a parish church in the village. The single nave is covered with ribbed vaults. A turreted bell tower stands at the corner facing the bridge. The church was desecrated in the 19th century and converted into a market hall, then a village hall. It now houses the reception office of the PÉRIGORD Dronne Belle Tourist Office in Brantôme.
