Details
The “Jardin du Presbytère” (Presbytery Garden) is a contemporary medieval style garden, created from historical documents (Capitulare de villis) on plants and gardens. Set between the church, the presbytery and the walls of the “Promenades”, the garden has one cave and two basins cut into the rock. It is made of several squares divided by wooden edgings in which are presented wild and cultivated plants known in Europe from the 5th and the 15th century. Each square is dedicated to a specific use: vegetable garden (hortus), medicinal and aromatic plants (herbularius), orchard (viridarium), useful plants (dyeing and industry), cereals, fruit trees and garden of Mary.
